You've Earned Your Rest

I was driving too fast through a residential neighborhood in Seattle one day.  Suddenly there were lights behind me and I pulled over and rolled down my window.

"Do you know what the speed limit is on this street, ma'am?" he asked.

"I'm really sorry, officer.  'Born to Run' is on and I just forgot myself."

He leaned in the window a little just in time to hear Clarence Clemons wailing on his sax and stayed leaned in until Springsteen started singing again.

"Just stay parked till it's over.  And, uh, take it easy next time."

Rest in peace, Clarence.  You've earned it.

  4. I have a tendency to drive a bit too fast, listening to my tunes. Wonder if that will ever work for me if I get pulled over! There are just some songs that you can't do anything else but drive at full speed when you are listening to them. And it's even better when it's summertime and the windows are down, and you are going down a long highway....

  5. Thanks for the lovin', calexora. You know what else is dangerous? Driving while grooving. The only time I really dance these days is in the driver's seat.
