A Very Beastie Special

In chat over at judiang's the other night I was trying to convince bccmee that "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys would make an excellent Robin Hood video and someone mentioned that she wasn't familiar with them at all.  Being that this blog was started to educate someone who shall remain nameless *cough* about Soundgarden I'm going to put my hip hop educator chapaeu on (quit snickering, A) and give a quick and dirty tutorial about the Beastie Boys.

Ready?

Okay, I'm not doing a tutuorial.  You can find anything you want to know about them either at their website or their wikipedia page.  You can't rock out to wikipedia, though, so here are a few of my favorites.

No Sleep Till Brooklyn.  Rockin' the party eight days a week -- revel in the hairbandness of it all.

Sure Shot.  Any flautists in the house?  Directed by Spike Jonze.

Sabotage.  Also directed by Spike Jonze, possibly the funniest video ever.  Unless L is reading this in which case it IS the Funniest.Video.Ever.

Intergalactic.  Because how can you NOT love a robot doing the Robot?

Have a great weekend.

  1. Fun videos! Good times. :) It's fun to live here in New York City because our "local bands" are international stars. Yay, Beastie Boys!

  2. Oh Jazzy chucks! I've got to open up my laptop to view all these YT vids! There needs to be a massive campaign on YT to make users aware about mobile syndication :(

  3. @bccmee -- And you had the Ramones. *sigh*

@Fanny -- I'll put that on my list right after World Domina...uh, I'll get right on that!

  4. I can't imagine there's anyone in the world who doesn't know who Soundgarden is.

You're doing a great job widening the horizons of someone who grew up under a mushroom.

  5. Kurbiss, I can't imagine someone not knowing Soundgarden, either. Ya just never know where someone is coming from.
