Aren't you glad there are people smarter than you in the world? I know I am. If I had to figure out fire for myself I'd be on the raw food diet and really cold. While I'm sure the world is a better place because people can debate quantum mechanics I'm not really certain what the point is and so I'm happy to smile and nod from a distance till some shiny thing distracts me.
This is part of the reason Rube Goldberg contraptions fascinate me. So, like, some really smart person figured out the exact arc of the golf club to turn off the alarm clock to release the zip-lining GI Joe to knock into the Slinky to walk down the stairs (alone or in pairs) to push Malibu Barbie's convertible down the ramp to weigh down the balance to flip up the fork to crack the eggs into the frying pan to make breakfast? How can I get one of those (And don't tell me math. I'm allergic)? What's even better is when the contraption isn't random and covered in duct tape (as much as I love duct tape) but really beautiful, like in the ad below. Yeah yeah, it's an ad, someone got paid to figure it out. It's still cooler than anything I've done today.
OMG - I'm flabbergasted! Who came up with that? Pretty cool... but also had me thinking... boy they must have a lot of time on their hands! That or they were paid HUGE bucks to figure it out. Could they not have used their genius to try to save the world a little bit?? Still - pretty darn cool! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhile I get what you're saying I think that stuff like this does save the world in a sense. The big brains need to play every now and again or they get burned out.
