Sunday Morning Poetry

Hello, pretty girl.  You know who you are.  You're reading this right now.  The pretty issue came up this week with a friend who said she didn't fit the "pretty girl" mold.  I beg to differ.  I've been looking for a reason to use this piece and this seems like an outstanding time.

  2. I am so never singing that song again! I wonder how she gets along with her mother now? Yikes!
Love the part about shopping not bringing fulfillment. This should be required viewing for all 13 year-olds!

  3. @Calexora and judiang...you're welcome!

@phylly3...I was wondering about her relationship with her mother, too, as I was listening to it for the first time...how do you as a parent so lack boundaries? And it's not just girls. A friend of mine told me about how, a few months after she and her husband married, her mother-in-law asked the son to take her to a doctor's appointment. When they got there it turned out the appointment was for HIM. His mother had scheduled a vasectomy for him because she didn't like her daughter-in-law and didn't want them to have kids.
