Christmas Is Too Commercial! Bah, Humbug!

Well, yeah.  Of course it is.  The trouble is that actual Christmas commercials can get me in the spirit like few other things.  I'm not talking about the latest BigBox store "Only ten nine eight seven shopping days till Christmas!" ads.  I'm talking about the ones that announce the season every year and join carols and six thousand viewings of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" as the white noise while I'm decorating or wrapping or having some drunken egg nog.  Here are a couple I love.

Hershey, like Slinky, is a local product for me and this commercial usually starts running right before Thanksgiving.  It's so cute, though, that I don't mind it.

Eat-N-Park is a Pittsburgh based restaurant chain, home of the Grilled Sticky (yum!).  They've used this as their Christmas ad since sometime in the 80s.

This one is Frenz's fault.  She had to go and mention Clydesdales and I'm highly suggestible so immediately the Budweiser King of Beers Christmas theme started running through my head.  Is that George Clooney doing the voice over here?

This, as far as I'm concerned, is the king of Christmas ads (sorry, Budweiser).  Wouldn't you like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company?

Did I mention that I'm suggestible?  Now I want Grilled Stickies with a side of Hershey's Kisses washed down by a Coke.  And a Bud.Weis.Er.  *Sigh*

  3. The kisses commercial is one of my favorites. I grew up in St. Louis, so Budweiser-Clydesdale commercials are like a little piece of home!
