Happy Citizenship Day!

Okay, the official Citizenship Day (also known as Constitution Day) is in September but someone we all know in the fandom is becoming a U.S. Citizen today and I want to mark the occasion for her.  It's especially poignant today on the anniversary of the deaths of so many.  There are few things in the world that thrill me to the bone like new citizens taking the oath of allegiance.  May we be worthy of all their dreams. Congratulations, Fanny!

  1. That's an awesome vid! Love Neil - from way back Jonathan Livington Seagull soundtrack back home - he was my younger sister's favorite.
I love that speech - ever heard this version?

  2. Thanks Judiang! I have to note one thing - the ceremony ended with a prayer ...
To me in a courtroom .. as non denominational it was, there is no room for a prayer. I believe strongly in separation of church and state - obviously something that was a century long issue in Europe.

  3. Congratulations, Fanny. Agree strongly on the separation issue. Citizenship is a secular faith :)
