Bah! The Super Bowl Is Too Commercial!

Well, yeah.  That's the only reason I watch, frankly, otherwise I'm snarling at anyone who comes within a foot of the Buffalo Chicken Dip.  The only time I'm actually interested is when the Steelers are playing.  Speaking of my beloved Black and Gold, two different players are featured in my favorite pair of Super Bowl commercials ever.

"Mean Joe" Greene was a member of the Steel Curtain, Pittsburgh's legendary defensive line in the 70s; they won four Super Bowls in six years.  In 1979 Mean Joe was in this ad for Coca Cola.

In 2009, Coke revisited this classic with Troy Polamalu.  Was it as heart warming as the original?  You be the judge.

So what's your favorite Super Bowl commercial?  Have a great Sunday!

  1. For me, no one beats Mean Joe Greene. That is such a classic. I won't be watching this year (team out of the running), but I almost want to go to a party just for all that decadent food ...

  2. Seriously. When else can you justify a Seven Layer Dip in the shape of a football stadium?

  4. Cheese is love. Much like Nutella + Graham Crackers.
