When Everyone's Out To Get You...

paranoia's just good thinking.  At least that's what Dr. Johnny Fever thought and he might be right.  I loved WKRP In Cincinnati and though my preteen swoon was program director Andy Travis (boyfriend wore those Levis tighter than Lucas North did, and that's saying something) Johnny Fever was the wise and wisecracking, frequently loaded weirdo uncle we all wished we had.  Was that one just me?  Anyway, Howard Hesseman is 72 today, babies, and while I have no idea what he likes I do know that Johnny Fever loved "Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band so that's what we're listening to today.  After we're done ogling Andy Travis.  Have a great day!

  1. Wow, Johnny Fever! Thanks for the memories. I just loved that show. Can't believe Hesseman is 72.

  2. oh, yeah, what a great episode. And it reminds me also of Les Nessman -- that was a great ensemble cast.

I think when I started watching Cheers and was so disappointed it was in part because I was looking for the subtlety and humor with which the WKRP characters were drawn. (No dice.)
