A Month of Sundays, Sunday April 29th Mashup

It's time to Jabber Yer Wocks Off.  *Snicker*  I've been waiting for two days for that.  Me?  Twelve?  Ya don't say.   Anyway, A Month of Sundays is nearly at an end so we're going back toward the silliness we started with.  Lewis Carroll didn't write Zombie Haiku but can you imagine if he did?  Victorian authors in general appear to have been a little light on Zombie Apocalypse hysteria.  Silly them.  Anyway, "Jabberwocky."

Okay, so just to bring you all up to speed, I'm stone cold crushing on Benedict Cumberbatch right at the moment (along with approximately 99% of the rest of the planet) and this is directly related to the fact that the second season of Sherlock is going to be hitting PBS in 7 days, 15 hours and 59 minutes.  I'm not even going to pretend to be cool about it.  Seriously, I haven't been this excited since the third season of The X-Files ("The Blessing Way," Mulder's life hung in the balance and Scully's life fell apart and no I didn't ship them, either).  Cumberbatch gets the top spot just because.

Also charming but not starring in Sherlock is Marianne Faithfull, who also read "Anabell Lee" the other day.  She recorded this on her first studio album, Come My Way in 1965.

Last but really really not least is Donovan from the album HMS Donovan which appears to have only been released in the UK in 1971.  Have I mentioned how much I love Donovan?  "I Love My Shirt" is a serious favorite in this household.

So, one more day...what could tomorrow bring?  You'll have to wait and see.

  1. Another great collection. Putting a musical background to poetry readings is a great idea, and singing them is even better.

Next Earth Day, I plan to plant some Tumtum trees.

    1. I've been trying to find a clip from "The Brady Bunch" where Mike did a reading of "The Raven" and Greg accompanied him on guitar. It was hilarious.
