Off Road: Birthday? What Birthday?

Okay, okay, obviously it's someone's birthday today.  As it turns out August 22 is the birthday of a few of my favorite people so without further ado, Happy Birthday Cindy Williams, Ray Bradbury, Tori Amos and John Lee Hooker!  Yes, I know it's Richard Armitage's birthday, too, but if you think I'm giving Shirley Feeny short shrift in favor of some dude in a tornado movie think again.

While I was looking for something Bradbury to share I happened across this gem from the 60s.  Dig that crazy house, too;  apparently by the year 2001 kids were no longer going to play in dirt.  I have to say the sliding board...uh, pneumatic people tube looks like fun.

I'm really not sure how to follow that up myself but luckily I have Tori Amos' version of  "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" to spin...

...and John Lee Hooker, who's "Bad Like Jesse James."

Oh, in case you were keeping track we had 42 donations to SpReAd The Love as of midnight last night in my time zone (Easten Standard Time) and I'm keeping it open till midnight in Hawaii tonight.  If you donated please email me at spreadthelovechallenge(at)gmail(dot)com to make sure I have a record of it.  And Happy Birthday Richard Armitage!  I don't do vids but I'm sure you'll find a bunch of new ones all over the blogs today.  You can start with this one at The Armitage Effect, courtesy of the fabulous fedoralady.  Have a great day!

  1. Tori Amos! Love that she shares a birthday with Armitage; Silent All These Years provided me with a major self-awareness leap when I heard it the first time.

42! Making progress over Valentine's, and I'm delighted so many people participated!
