Off Road: That Was Easy

It's back-to-school time in the US.  Some schools have already started but the school district we're in doesn't go back till the day after Labor Day, which this year falls on September 3rd.  I registered the kids for public school for the first time this year and they're really excited about new backpacks, new shoes and, best of all for my former parochial school kids, new school clothes.  A friend of mine posted this old Staples ad (for those outside the US, Staples is an office supply chain) on Facebook today and I laughed as hard as I did the first time I saw it.

Whoever their advertising company was in the mid-90s had a great sense of humor.  Not only did they produce the above commercial, they also excelled at stunt casting, like this.

I haven't seen whatever fabulous thing they've come up with this year but I've been either doing our shopping or in an Olympics coma for two weeks so I'll probably get to see it, oh, sometime after the kids go back.  After my nap.  Have a great day!

    1. The girls are both little fashionistas so they were easy. Their brother, though, was basing his choices on the free toy that came with the shirt. It was really difficult to convince him that, no, he really couldn't have the size 18 shirt even if it did come with a cool skateboard.
