Happy Birthday, Icon

Today is the birthday of a major, huge, world changing icon. We've already established that I'm not a Shakepeare person so it's not him (though happy birthday wherever he is). No, this one is a little closer to home for me. On this date in 1976 The Ramones released their debut album. The first single was "Blitzkrieg Bop" and I haven't stopped bopping yet. Thanks, Ramones.

    I saw a kid w/a Ramones t-shirt in one of my classes today and he was totally oblivious to the significance of the date. (shakes head)

      In fairness I only know because someone brought it up in my Shakespeare class in high school.
