How I Spent My Summer Vacation

*Stumbles in, blows dust off the joint*

Hey, y'all...uh, yinz'all...uh, look, I just spent a couple of weeks south of the Mason-Dixon Line, it's gonna take me a minute here. We spent a day with one of my sisters and her grandson here.

We stayed a week or so in South Carolina where we spent an evening listening to these guys

and a few days later met some old friends and had a lot of this.

My oldest turned twelve a few days ago while doing this.

And this.

And this.

Her younger siblings weren't as daring but they still had a great time. We're glad to be home, though, and as soon as I get through approximately 6,843 loads of laundry I'll tell you more about it. In the meantime, it seems that my beloved Weird Al has FINALLY hit number one on Billboard after thirty-some years so we're going out with my favorite single from his new album. Have a great day!

    1. Isn't it hilarious? I think maybe a Yankovic spam might be in order.

  3. How y'all are?? (If you don't get this joke, you're too young). Sounds like you had a great time. I love roller coasters but it might be too much for ye olde bones now.

    1. I went through a period where even the thought of roller coasters was enough to make my stomach flip over but I'm okay with them now. I rode Loch Ness Monster and Alpengeist with her and Verbolten with my son but the huge new coaster, Griffon, I left for Daddy to handle. :)

  4. VERY entertaining post! I love Ray Charles and a Marine Band always brings a tear to my eye. I skipped the cooking (sorry) and went right to roller coaster rides. I had to pause the second video as I was terrified and getting dizzy ;) It's the closest I'll come to riding them. I loved Weird Al's song and video and I find it heartening that it's number one on the billboard. I watched it twice and saved it :) Thanks for sharing your summer vacation. Tree

    1. Thanks for your kind comment! I'm so thrilled for Weird Al...it's been a long trip for a guy with an accordion and a dream. :) I got your email while I was away but my phone disappeared it for whatever reason. It showed again when I logged on to my computer.
