Against The 70's

This one's for phylly, just back from vacation and issuing challenges.  The one she issued to me was to prove that Tom Petersson from Cheap Trick could, in fact, have passed for Guy of Gisborne's dissipated younger brother.  For those unfamiliar with Guy of Gisborne, here he is in season 3 of Robin Hood.

I was doing some reading about CT a couple of months ago and this picture kind of startled me.

It's in the eyes, the bone structure and the coloring.  Can you see it?  Because I totally can.  Maybe from another angle.

Wow, the AquaNet.  Or three days of not washing it.  You never know.  Anyway, so when I was nine this guy was the hottest guy I'd ever seen.  You know that adrenaline rush when you hear Robin Zander yell out "I want you to want me!" over thousands of screaming fans?  I still get it.  I might need it to motivate me this morning, actually.  Have a great day.

  1. I can see the likeness there, Petersson is a little thinner in the face perhaps. That is some great rock hair!

    1. I think the thinness comes from that special powdered diet a lot of 70s rock stars were on. And isn't that awesome hair?

  2. So you did take up the challenge! LOL I do see a resemblance in the colouring and eyes, not so much the bone structure. But he couldn't play the younger brother now, could he?
I know I listened to a lot of Cheap Trick back in the day, but other than that song and Dream Police I can't seem to remember any other hits. That's probably because I didn't have any of their albums. My boyfriend at the time had the album with your song choice on it. Of course, one of the reasons I married him was to merge our record collections! LOL ;)

    1. If there were a bobble in the space time continuum maybe; Petersson is about twenty years older than RA.

  4. I noticed the cleft chin, too. But they both have the same high cheek bones and coloring. Ha!

  5. Since the space time-continuum is always in flux, that definitely could be Guy's younger brother :-)I guess we could something about Richard in everything. Shades of Charles Nelson-Riley a la X-Files :-)

    1. We might need to put Jose Chung on the case with a couple of Men In Black. So does this mean that Guy and Allan were the original Men In Black? Hmm.

  6. I guess he could pass as Guy's younger brother, but he'd be more suited as George Harrison's little brother:)

    1. Hmm...you think? And if you're a Beatles person, have you seen this? TP's not in it but Bun E. Carlos and Ric Neilsen are with Tom Levin from the "Double Fantasy" session.
