Face? Off!

It finally happened. Last week Red Hot Chili Peppers Drummer Chad Smith challenged Will Ferrell to a face off of sorts, pitting Smith's drumming against Ferrell's cow belling, and Ferrell graciously and hilariously accepted during an AMA on Reddit, with the condition that they raise $300,000 for Cancer For College first. No word on who'll be judging this event but OF COURSE it should be Christopher Walken, right?

I heard about the challenge on the radio this morning as the coffee was brewing (read: the time of day before I've had caffeine and I get my goofiest ideas) so naturally I started musing about other people who resemble each other who might be up for doing face off things. Like, who does Richard Armitage look like to you? And who would he challenge to do something goofy? Yes, I think Thorin looks like Kim Thayil but I don't know that I'd actually want Armitage to challenge Thayil to a guitar-off because just no. He plays air guitar just fine but with  real instruments he'd get his sugarbritches owned. I thought about Hugh Jackman but don't they share an agent? That could get weird. THEN it hit me: he also reminds me of Bruce Campbell.

As it turns out, they've already faced off, sort of, in the cheesiest of cheesetastic media, the Old Spice commercial. This is Campbell's.

Armitage hasn't done an Old Spice commercial but, thanks to vidder mogliedeirochester, Guy of Gisborne has.

So the question is, who did it better? Comments are open and have a great day!

  1. LOL! What a contest for first thing in the morning!

Much as I hate to admit it, Bruce wins (or is that wince?) for cheesiest delivery. But, he is waaaaay up there in the Cheesy Campiness hierarchy. ('Jack of All Trades' anyone? LOL)

That stated, though, I think that if Gisborne (yes, I mean 'Gisborne') himself did that voiceover, it would be a much closer contest. And it might just be the first recorded audio of Melted Cheese. *giggle*

Was it just me, or did anyone else hear Gisborne's voice throughout the vid?

(And no, I haven't been in the special brownies this morning. Yet. ;) )

    1. I would LOVE to see Campbell and Armitage in something together. Throw in David Duchovny and Nathan Fillion and get John Waters to direct it...*sigh.*

  2. If you can think these kinds of thoughts without caffeine, you should have been a philosopher.

    1. According to the jazzbaby1 school of thought, you need to embrace your inner blue dandelion of goofiness.

    1. I can see that. How could they face off, though?
