So why am I thinking about this? Andrew Lincoln was on Rachael Ray this morning...okay, not ON her, sitting beside her at the fake kitchen table, but you know...have I mentioned how frequently I'm twelve? Anyway, RA fans know Andrew Lincoln as Hugh Collinson, the guy who ruined heroic John Porter's life in the first season of Strike Back. While Collinson may have been a dastardly dude Rick Grimes of AMC's The Walking Dead is so heroic he has his own action figure. Lincoln was charming and funny though not as charming and funny as Hugh Jackman, but then, who is as charming and funny as Hugh Jackman?
Anyway, as I was watching the segment I started thinking about what it's going to be like for RA on the talkshow circuit. Here's my wish list.
1. Rachael Ray -- She's funny and warm and she cooks so I'm guessing she's right up RA's alley.
2. Ellen DeGeneres -- If anyone can talk him into dancing on television she can. Sophia Grace and Rosie actually doing tea with him would just be gravy.
3. Craig Ferguson -- I have such a crush on @CraigyFerg that the combination of the two of them might kill me but I'd die smiling. Plus puppets.
4. Inside the Actor's Studio with James Lipton -- Just because I love every interview I've ever seen Lipton do and I'd love for someone to actually talk to RA about his job.
What do you guys think? Who would you like to see interview him? Some of you are Dr. Who people and though I don't get it Craig Ferguson is right there with you.
I'm looking forward to him being interviewed on British TV - Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton, etc
ReplyDeleteLOL, Graham Norton would be rad!
DeleteLOL!!! As a looooooong time DW fan, thanks for sharing that video. I actually squealed when Matt Smith showed up. :D
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you as I posted it, judiang.
DeleteLipton, for sure. Conan O'Brien, who is a great interviewer and hopefully would bring out Armitage's funny side. Ellen, but only IF she can get him to dance.
ReplyDeleteShe also has this running gag where she sends a celeb out in public wearing an ear piece and they have to repeat what she says in their ear...I don't know that RA would go for it but in the past it's been hilarious. Here's Dennis Quaid's bit.

Oh yes, the actors studio - a fine choice! Parkinson.. if he was still in the business!
ReplyDeleteI've seen some of Parkinson's interviews and I agree!
DeleteI am soooo with you about RA and Craig Ferguson. It really might kill me, but what a way to go!
ReplyDeleteIf it happens we should do a Twitter group watch.
DeleteYou are so right about Ellen DeGeneres. That would be a blast! I would love to see him interviewed in Canada by George Stromboulopoulos (affectionately called Strombo for short). He is a great interviewer, very friendly, well researched, and funny.
ReplyDeleteHere is his interview with Daniel Radcliff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHYPsGJfgwM
Okay, I'm a Strombo fan now...
DeleteYou and I share a love of Craig Ferguson...where else can you see a talking robot (with more real estate than Trump), a talking rabbit (a la Mr Rogers), a horse wearing eye shadow (favorite was Diane Lane after Secretariat came out), and dueling harmonicas (cuz harmonicas are just cool man)? Perfect show...except the fact that it comes on so late that I hardly ever get to see it! Bummer!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen this? This was the monologue that made me adore him.

This was awesome! I must admit I haven't seen his show very much but I love listening to him when I do. I have a clip from him on my post about Richard III, he does the opening soliloquy in record time!

I saw that on your post...hilarious!
DeleteOh yes, Skully! James Lipton or Parkinson! It would be something.:)
ReplyDeleteHey, Joanna, glad to see you back!
Deletei agree but i would add jay leno only because he often finds one of the first videos of a person maybe the dancing banana
ReplyDeleteWelcome, westiemom, and I'd forgotten about that with Leno (it's been a long time since I've watched him)...
DeleteI think all the people you mentioned would fawn over him. Since I don't watch that kind of tv, all I can come up with is Charlie Rose. In the olden days, perhaps Brian Linehan.
DeleteOOOOOh, I must add on kaprekar's suggestion- the relatively free wheeling Graham Norton. I would love that! IMO, any American shows are powered by publicists.
