Kennedy Center Honors LedBuddy

Wow, that really doesn't work, does it?  It's too early to pun well.  Anyway the Kennedy Center Honorees were announced yesterday and you can find the full list here but I'm spamming you with two of them:  Led Zepplin and the fabulous, lovelovelove him to death Buddy Guy.  First let's get the Led out.  See, I told you it was too early but at least I can't take the blame credit for that one.

"When the Levee Breaks" was written by Kansas Joe McCoy and his wife Memphis Minnie in the 1920's.  Zep's version from 1971's Led Zepplin IV was based on that one but switches things up a little bit (they give Minnie a writing credit).

That was a blues but THE blues man is Mr. Guy.  I mean, really.

"Damn Right I've Got the Blues"

"Mustang Sally"

"I Put A Spell On You"

"Sweet Home Chicago"

Wow.  I'm definitely awake now.  Still can't pun but I'm awake.  Maybe after some coffee.  Have a great day!

  1. so is Led Zep getting Kennedy Ctr Honors a sign that ... what is it a sign of ?

    1. The Zombie Apocalypse is nigh, of course.

    2. My students are always telling me that :)

    3. Your students are wise for ones so young.
